Orange Genie Accountancy joins the FCSA

Orange Genie Accountancy have successfully met the rigorous code of conduct to become members of the Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA).

Orange Genie Accountancy (part of the Orange Genie Group) is delighted to have passed the rigorous independent review by the Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA) to become members of the Association. Orange Genie Umbrella is also a member of the Association.

Orange Genie Accountancy was formed in 2012 to provide accounting support to freelance contractors providing services through their own limited company. Often referred to as Personal Service Companies (PSC) the freelance owner/director often needs help, advice and support to ensure they comply with current legislation and discharge their duties as company directors.

Orange Genie Accountancy provides a full service including company formation, company secretarial services, legislative advice on matters such as IR35, taxation and wealth planning. All clients are provided with access to a modern cloud-based book-keeping service providing real time access to their critical business data. Each client has a personal accountant who keeps an eye on the business to take the worry away from the freelancer and ensures the client company avoids unnecessary late filing fines.

Orange Genie Accountancy is already independently accredited by Professional Passport to reassure its clients that it complies with all current legislation and is not a managed service provider.
Helen Christopher, Operations Director at Orange Genie Accountancy said:

“I am delighted that Orange Genie Accountancy is now a member of the FCSA, it is clearly the leading independent accreditation body in the UK. We feel the publication of its rigorous code of conduct and the open-book policy with HMRC are consistent with our brand values and will give additional reassurance to our clients and agency partners. We intend to play our part in the development and growth of the FCSA we believe it’s vital that our sector has a strong voice that is respected and able to influence government thinking and policy.”

FCSA is a not-for-profit trade association formed by the contracting industry’s leading companies; they publish a clear code of conduct that all members must adhere. Members are subject to an independent review against the code which they must pass before becoming members.

An annual review is undertaken and has to be passed in order to maintain membership ensuring that only the most compliant firms join. Becoming a member of FCSA reinforces standards for professional compliance and demonstrates that Orange Genie Accountancy works legally and ethically at all times. This position gives Orange Genie Accountancy great credibility and strength, ensuring our opinions are both heard and valued within the industry and by the Government and regulators.

Orange Genie Accountancy’s compliance review was undertaken by Ernst and Young and CRS solicitors on behalf of FCSA.

Julia Kermode, Chief Executive, FCSA said:

“It is excellent news that Orange Genie Accountancy has joined Orange Genie Umbrella in membership of the Association. We are delighted they were able to meet the standards set out in our code of conduct and we are delighted to welcome them to the Association".
