Protecting your mental health

Managing your mental health can be a challenge at the best of times, and with new pressures and worries about the future it can be many times harder.

Our Support and Counselling service has been helping our employees through some of life’s hardest moments since its launch in 2018 and it has become one of our most important services.

Talking to one of our experienced counsellors can help you understand a problem, make a tough decision, try a different approach or just learn how to cope with a difficult situation. Expert legal and financial support is also available if needed. The service is available 24/7, and of course there are no usage limits or costs to you.

Top tip:
If you’re wondering whether you should call Counselling and Support, the answer is yes!  The service exists to support you and we strongly encourage you to use it whenever you think it might help. Your problem is not too small, we promise.

Fast and easy access to medical care

During the pandemic, GPs have received fewer visits from patients under the age of 75, which means people are deciding not to seek medical attention when they usually would. This is a concern as it means they might not get the care they need.  

At the same time, NHS services have been under enormous pressure and many non-urgent or routine procedures have been cancelled.

Fortunately for our employees, we know that easy access to medical care is vitally important for health and wellbeing, and we offer two services designed to make sure they have it.

Personal Doctor provides on-demand private GP appointments at no cost to you, at any time of the day or night. This allows you to seek medical advice without leaving your home, or risking infection in a doctor’s waiting room. 

Medical specialist provides expert help when accessing specialist medical care, guiding you through the process and helping you secure the earliest possible treatment dates. This improves access to care while conserving NHS resources by utilising cancelled and unused appointments.  

Top Tip:
Personal Doctor includes a prescription delivery service, so if the doctor believes prescription medication is required this can be sent anywhere in the UK. This is ideal if you’re unable to leave your home.
