Recent changes to legislation concerning false self-employment have seen a growing demand from recruitment agencies for an employment solution for its construction workers.

Contractors and Freelancers often embark in temporary employment in search of a more flexible career however, they are often faced with rigid rules and not being accepted as a normal form of employment. The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) are now campaigning to improve the method of working’s image by emphasizing the attractions.

All employers who wish to recruit foreign, skilled workers are required to register for a Sponsorship Licence with the Home Office. Workers can then be approved on a Tier 2 (General) visa allowing them to come and work for the employer under the terms set out in the certificate of sponsorship and their employment contract. Tier 2 (General) visas are only for those workers who are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
