Umbrella company contractors told 'look for jobs in oil and gas sector'
Posted by Daniel Frost
Company umbrella contractors have been told that the oil and gas industry is a good place to find work at the moment.
According to Contract Eye, the demand for oil is likely to rise rapidly over the next ten years, with skilled engineers being sought out as a result.
In fact, contractor daily rates for work within the oil and gas sector saw a 30 per cent increase in 2010 alone.
Matt Underhill, managing director of Hays Oil & Gas, pointed out that such a hike is representative of the state of the job market.
He explained: "To have an increase of this level shows the UK oil and gas industry is on a strong recovery curve following the tough times of 2008."
Yesterday, Nebusiness.co.uk reported how Advanced Industrial Solutions, a north-east business that specialises in training for the oil and gas industry, has announced a record three months of trading.
The firm, which aids people in rigging, insulation and rope access, saw sales turnover double, as well as the creation of four jobs, as a result.
