Umbrella company contractors 'should deal with debt now'
Posted by Daniel Frost
Company umbrella contractors have been given some advice on how to deal with debt, so that it does not hamper them throughout 2011.
David Rodger, managing director of the Debt Advice Foundation, believes that there are "some simple ways to give your finances some TLC".
These include those with umbrella companies looking at ways which they can save, trimming their spending wherever possible and cutting back on credit.
However, for those who fear that they may have spent too much over the festive period and are facing mounting debts, Mr Rodger recommended free, impartial and confidential advice to be sought.
He explained: "Sadly debt problems only get worse over time, so it's worth asking for help and advice sooner rather than later."
The expert's comments come after research recently conducted by Santander Credit Cards revealed that a debt total of £2.8 billion will be shifted onto new credit cards this year.
