Umbrella company contractors advised: 'Deal with Xmas debt now'
Posted by Daniel Frost
Company umbrella contractors have been told of ways which they could reduce their Christmas debt before the finances weigh them down too much.
Jasmine Birtles, the founder of Moneymagpie.com, advised that the time between the Christmas festivities and New Year parties is the best time for people to have a review of their finances.
When it comes to figuring out how to reduce the money going out, the expert recommends those with umbrella companies to first decide on which bills can be swapped for cheaper alternatives.
From there, contractors can start to think about how else to save the pennies, with unwanted presents a great way to earn some extra cash.
Ms Birtles explained: "They can start to see what they can sell there and really start early before the credit card bills come in."
Her advice comes after research conducted by unbiased.co.uk recently found that 10p of debt was paid down by Brits for every pound saved during the third quarter of 2010.
