Umbrella company contractors: 'Not enough graduates with IT skills'
Posted by John Crawley
There are not enough graduates with the skills necessary to pursue a career in IT, umbrella company contractors within this industry may be interested to know.
Richard Nott, website director at CWJobs.co.uk, made this claim at the 360°IT event, which was held recently at London's Earls Court.
He pointed out that there had always been an influx in graduates, yet this is never enough to reach the demand required in IT businesses.
Despite many graduates failing to acquire a job after coming out of university in general, it is finding those with the right IT skills which is a particular concern for Mr Nott.
He explained: "Not everyone's been able to get the job they want at the moment. However, if you look at the market underlying we still haven't got enough people coming into IT."
Recently, research by the Higher Education Careers Services Unit found that graduate unemployment is at its highest in 17 years, sitting at 8.9 per cent, which may also intrigue those with an umbrella company currently looking for work.
