Umbrella companies 'will provide skilled workers'
Posted by John Crawley
IT contractors with umbrella companies may find it best to look at the private sector for jobs, according to one expert.
Richard Nott, website director at CWJobs.co.uk, pointed out at the 360°IT event in London's Earls Court that government handlings will see cutbacks in the public sector.
However, he does not believe that this is entirely a bad thing, as it could fill the market with umbrella company users who are skilled in IT, thus creating more choice and reliability.
Mr Nott explained: "[Private sector companies] are going to get people that are highly skilled, that have worked on very large IT projects a lot of the time, and so they can really utilise those people."
Recently, Greythorn has announced that 21,400 jobs will be created across the country's IT and telecoms sector in the first three quarters of 2010, with IT jobs set to reach pre-crunch levels come Christmas.
