Technology "revolutionising" industry for teaching contractors
Category: Contractor Industry News
Teaching contractors are seeing new technology have a massive impact on their jobs, it has been said.Billions of pounds have been pumped into information and communications technology in schools, explained Andy Mitchell, assistant chief executive of the Design and Technology Association.
"It's influencing the way curriculums are delivered," he commented. "It's really revolutionising the way teaching is taught."
New technologies are having particular influence in design and textile classes, he continued, and giving youngsters more opportunities in what they can produce in lessons.
Speed of access and the growing range of information available is putting them in the driving seat, Mr Mitchell added.
According to a survey by the National Literacy Trust, 86 per cent of young people in the UK own a mobile phone, yet only 73 per cent have their own books.
