Recession 'thing of the past' for IT umbrella company contractors
Posted by Daniel Frost
The number of IT jobs available could be an indication that those with umbrella companies within this industry are no longer affected by the recession.
Research by Greythorn has found that the number of opportunities on offer by Christmas will be at the same level as they were before the economic crunch made its bite felt, IT Contractor reported.
Looking at the IT and telecoms sector in the UK in the first three quarters of 2010 reveals that 21,400 jobs have been created for company umbrella contractors with skills in these areas.
Commenting on the results, Gerry McLaughlin said: "If a contractor had disappeared up the Amazon Jungle for two years and come back, he or she wouldn't have noticed any difference."
Further good news for IT contractors with umbrella companies is that demand for their services in October increased by 13.3 per cent.
IT Contractor noted that this research, which was released by ReThink Recruitment, showed a "massive increase" and further illustrated that the recession is a thing of the past for this part of the economy.
