REC reminds employers of need for legal practices
Category: Recruitment Agency News
Professional contractors and freelancers will welcome the Recruitment and Employment Confederation's (REC's) recent reminder for recruiters to operate within the law.The employment body issued the warning after four agency directors were banned from running recruitment firms for up to ten years.
Fola Tayo, head of professional standards for the REC, said it is encouraging that it is only the minority of providers which flout the regulations.
"This case is useful reminder of the need for recruitment agencies to be fully aware of their regulatory obligations and to strive for the highest levels of compliance," he added.
Mr Tayo said that overall, the industry is making "huge progress" in raising the bar on professional standards.
The REC is currently running a client awareness campaign to ensure good practice in the supply chain.
Recently, the REC said the employment industry needs to focus on issuing impartial legal guidance, practical support service and complying with industry standards.
