REC picks out Lib Dem manifesto highlights for recruiters
Category: Recruitment Agency News
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has picked out a number of highlights from the Liberal Democrat manifesto for recruiters. In particular, the REC focused on the Liberal Democrats ideas on reforming business rates, as the party would hope to create a fairer system where rates are based on site values instead of rental values and are the responsibility of local authorities.
The REC also picked out plans to extend the right to request flexible working to all employees.
According to the body, the REC has met with the political party on a number of occasions over the last few years and "will assess the impact on recruitment if, following the election, they are involved in negotiations in a hung Parliament".
The Green Party today released its manifesto, which includes a government investment programme to create around a million new jobs and training places across an array of industries, along with tax changes designed to reduce inequality.
