New growth fund is a positive for British business
Category: Contractor Industry News
The new Regional Growth Fund needs to be seen as a positive for businesses and workers, such as contractors using umbrella companies, according to an expert.Chris Gorman, spokesperson for the Forum of Private Business, said that the scheme from the coalition government, which is pumping £1 billion into the project, will help companies make the sometimes difficult transition from the public to the private sector.
"It can only be a good thing. It is some good news for businesses, and it can only be a good thing that businesses are being offered support and money to develop their ideas," he said.
The expert added that the recent Budget from George Osborne will definitely affect businesses and he predicted that all firms will "feel the pain" at one time or another.
Deputy prime minister Nick Clegg launched the £1 billion Regional Growth Fund with the intention of helping areas and communities at risk of being particularly affected by public spending cuts.
