More flexible resourcing 'needed for NHS'

Category: Recruitment Agency News

The NHS is in need of more flexible resourcing, according to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), which could interest umbrella companies.

Figures from the 7th Annual NHS Staff Survey for the Care Quality Commission showed that almost half (45 per cent) of those polled believe there were not enough workers for them to do their jobs properly.

The survey also revealed that 44 per cent of staff felt their trust was committed to helping its employees with balancing their work and home life.

"NHS Trusts need to urgently review the allocation of staff and call on extra resource from agency and locum staff to fill gaps where necessary and ensure front line care needs are met," commented Tom Hadley, director of external relations at the REC.

The REC recently commented on the Financial Services Authority's proposal to recruit over 400 new workers this year, claiming that there is plenty of demand in the finance sector.
