Many IT contractors say that their main concern with recruitment agencies is that they advertise jobs which do not exist.A poll by the IT Contractor website found that 30 per cent find this frustrating, while a quarter of those questioned say that their main problem is not having their calls returned.
In third place of the worst problems with agencies was the high fee that they charge, while 15 per cent think being sent for interviews which they are no qualified for is annoying.
The final problem, which 13 per cent identified, was sending CVs out without permission.
However, IT contractors may be able to negotiate better deals with agencies soon, as an expert has predicted that the workers could be increasingly in demand.
Jamie Bowler, head of marketing at recruitment website the IT Job Board, said that as stability returns to the country the tech jobs market is seeing a boost, leading to an increased need for IT contractors.
