Inflation and pay figures 'set to hit families hard'
Posted by Sarah Putt
Hard-up families are set to be hit with the release of both the inflation and pay figures this week, company umbrella contractors were told.
As concerns over family finances continue to mount, Uswitch.com believes that this will only make matters worse.
Ann Robinson, Director of Consumer Policy at uSwitch.com, commented: "Consumers are facing a perfect storm that could see household finances knocked for six this year."
She also noted that, in her estimation, the timing of the statistics will be a cruel blow for families already struggling to cope in a vulnerable economy, as well as likely to be costly to them.
As a result, Ms Robinson advised: "Stripping down living costs and household bills to the bare minimum can be the lifeline people need to stay afloat."
The comments come soon after Prudential's Class of 2011 research revealed that 62 per cent of people reaching retirement this year are hoping to continue in work, with some intending to do so in order to add to their pension pot.
