IT recruitment sector 'is growing'

IT contractors could be seeing more opportunities as the IT recruitment sector is growing, according to one industry commentator.

As the country comes out of recession, confidence is improving and firms are looking beyond simply surviving, explained Alex Farrell, managing director at theitjobboard.co.uk.

"The economic climate has resulted in a strategy shift for many businesses," he commented, adding that IT is the bedrock for business globally.

More twists and turns are likely to come, but firms realise the need to have a reactive business model now they have come through the worst, Mr Farrell continued.

IT contractors will find a range of roles and competitive salaries, the expert added.

Badenoch & Clark has also recently highlighted the strength of the IT sector, pointing to a rise in demand for support analysts and IT trainers.

Firms are investing in both systems and staff, said associate director of IT Matt Gascoigne.
