IT contractors 'should choose training courses wisely'
Category: Contractor Industry News
IT contractors looking to improve their skills to aid their chances in the competitive job market should choose training courses wisely, it has been advised. There are numerous IT training course providers offering qualifications and IT contractors must take time to consider their options, advised Matt Limb from training firm Computeach.
He urged anyone considering IT training to check the firm's history and reputation, looking beyond what the company says and reading customer reviews.
Flexibility of the programme is also important, Mr Limb continued, as IT contractors could benefit from being able to study in between jobs and in their own time.
"By opting for a training programme with a bit of leniency, this stress is removed and you can get on with gaining your qualifications," he commented.
Also check issues such as pass rates, costs, payment options and the likely prospects on completing the course, the IT expert added.
IT contractors are also likely to benefit from the rise in cyber attacks being seen by many firms. Figures from Symantec revealed that 84 per cent of firms are looking to better manage the business risks related to IT.
