IT contractors should be buoyed by hourly rate
Category: Contractor Industry News
To some people the fact that the average hourly pay for IT contractors has not changed much may not seem like good news, but in the current climate workers should be content, according to a website.Contractor UK stated that the rate is currently £28.23 per hour, which it believes shows stability in the sector although it is "a barely perceptible change" from the £28.28 noted at the end of March, according to the website.
Matthew Smith, managing director and consultant for UK regions with Harvey Nash, told the website: "Demand for contract resource remains robust, as do the rates, in our experience ... in 'commodity technologies' - that is technologies that can be easily found offshore - are going south."
Mark Seymour, director of Hays Insurance and Financial Services, the leading recruiting expert, recently said that after the banking sector's recent difficulties demand for actuaries and compliance managers has increased.
