IT contractors have been noted as being generous and honest compared to those with an umbrella company in other careers.

This is according to a new survey reported by IT Contractor, which found that 37 per cent of contractors with skills in IT would donate half of a lottery jackpot win to charity, whereas only 21 per cent of all contractors agreed they would make this gesture.

Furthermore, only 17 per cent of people would stop working after a lottery win, with many noting reasons why they would stay includes enjoying flexible hours (65 per cent) and benefitting from a sense of freedom (86 per cent) – which only 36 per cent of all contractors looked at positively.

It seems that IT contractors are trustworthy too, with almost nine in ten adamant that they have never misled anyone during their careers.

When asked to pick which animals' attributes go best with them, 68 per cent chose to be associated with a chameleon and its ability to be "flexible, quick and readily adaptable to change", according to the results.

Recently, a poll carried out by Giant found that 63 per cent of IT contractors expected their earnings to increase in the next year, showing their optimism in their jobs, Contractor UK reported.
