IT contractors 'earning more now than before recession'
The good news keeps on coming for IT contractors who are with an umbrella company, as it seems there are many who are earning more money now than before the downturn.
In fact, the recession did not seem to have as much of an impact on this industry in comparison to what was predicted, according to IT Contractor.
Gerry McLaughlin, author for the article, explained: "Indeed the downturn pretty much did not happen for contractors as their numbers only fell by about ten per cent and rates only fell a little too."
This is in contrast to nearly a half of contractors been unable to find work back in a downturn in the early part of the noughties.
Other facts released by ITJobsWatch.co.uk include rates for contractors working as senior developers going up by 11 per cent, while data analysts have had their earnings increased by 22 per cent.
Giant recently released a poll that suggested that 63 per cent of IT contractors expect to see further rises in their rates in the next 12 months, Contractors UK has reported.
