Category: Contractor Industry News
Posted by Sarah PuttUmbrella company users will feel that there are more rewards involved than risks if they take the IT contractor route.
This is according to Contract Eye, which feels that those opting for an IT contractor position rather than a permanent job will probably feel there are better off financially.
It also believes that a sense of freedom will also be associated with this career path, as experience can be gained in a range of different companies, as well as having the option to take time off when at the end of one contract and before starting on the next one.
However, although there are rewards, the risks should be outlined so that potential contractors are aware of them. This includes the prospect of being out of work when one comes to an end, which Contract Eye has provided tips for avoiding.
It wrote: "Unless you want to be forced back into the world of permanent employment, you should always try to keep money aside to support you when you are out of contract."
IT contractors seem to be working in a less risky environment these days, though, as companies and organisations are trying to retain those with IT skills, according to ITContractor.com's Gerry McLaughlin.
