Global employers stepping up recruitment efforts, expert says

Category: Recruitment Agency News

Businesses across the globe are waking up to the fact that, now more than ever, they need to increase the efficiency of the methods they use to employ people.

Chief executive of Randstad Ben Noteboom's optimistic outlook on the world employment markets is likely to be welcomed by freelance contractors and professionals across a variety of sectors.

Despite his company posting an 18 per cent drop in revenue in the final quarter of 2009, when compared to the preceding three-month period, falling revenues were nevertheless seen to be slowing, with the global economic upturn now expected to improve prospects further still over the remainder of 2010.

"Our markets have stabilised and classical recovery patterns are visible," Mr Noteboom told Recruiter.

"Clients worldwide realise that they need efficiency in the way they employ people, more than ever before."

This follows the Recruitment and Employment Confederation reporting that unemployment levels across the UK eased in January, with growing numbers of employers confident that they will soon start stepping up their recruitment efforts, thereby spelling good news for IT contractors and other freelance workers.
