IT company umbrella contractors in the north west of England have been told of recruitment opportunities at a new games studio.

Former staff at ill-fated Bizarre Creations have banded together to form Lucid, which is based in Liverpool.

Pete Wallace, manager at the studio, believes that having the "great history" of Bizarre Creations behind them will help them moving forward, as well as urging that it is "committed to the UK game development community".

He added: "We plan to build a studio which encourages open communication with its partners, customers and other developers."

At the moment, Lucid is in talks with a series of big-name publishers in the videogame industry, as well as seeking staff, which could include those with umbrella companies with IT skills in the area.

Bizarre Creations took the decision to close its doors last Friday (February 18th), after more than 20 years developing critically-acclaimed games, including the Project Gotham Racing series.
