Female umbrella company users in the financial services sector could soon benefit from higher levels of transparency in the industry, it has been claimed.Kate Grussing, spokeswoman for the City Women's Network and managing director of Sapphire partners, claimed that recently-proposed changes brought in by the Equalities Act could be a positive development for women in the field.
She said: "All professional women will welcome greater transparency and the more that compensation can be available in a standard format - across all levels and sector – that can only be a good thing."
Another key area where changes should be made is on how appointments are made to the board level, she added.
Ms Grussing opposed suggestions about the implementation of quotas and said that a higher level of transparency about the processes involved in board appointments are needed.
Her comments follow media reports about the introduction of the Equality Act that have suggested that laws governing pay secrecy are likely to be removed.
