Contractors starting up are in a good position
Contractors using umbrella companies starting up in the coming months are in a good position because they are joining the workforce at the bottom and can work their way up, according to an expert.
Darren Hopper, head of marketing for small and medium business at Orange, said that innovative workers will always be in demand and right now things cannot get much worse for contractors.
"Although it is a challenging time, we are seeing lots more smaller businesses looking to innovate and set up for themselves something that they may not have thought about previously," he stated.
Damian Reece, head of business at the Telegraph Media Group, added that there are always going to be gaps in the market for intelligent contractors to exploit.
PayPoint.net recently stated that two-thirds of the nation's office workers (64 per cent) believe running their own business would be more fulfilling than their current job.
