Contractors are unprepared for interviews
Category: Contractor Industry News
Too many contractors using umbrella companies are not prepared for an interview, according to an expert, who said that many do not even spend time researching a company before attending an interview.Russell Dyer, of CV specialists Accendo Career Management Services, told ContractorUK that some contractors get the time, date and place of an interview incorrect, which does not give them a good chance of getting a job.
"It may sound basic but it amazes me how many people still fall at the first hurdle by not getting the essential details right from the off ... ensure that you arrive on time and know the name of the interviewer, so you can ask for them personally when you enter," he said.
Chris Morrall, director of Talent Transitions, recently said that at present too many contractors are simply applying for any role they can and not taking the time to focus their applications on jobs they have a chance of getting.
