Company umbrella contractors 'will benefit from FDM's pledge'
Posted by Daniel Frost
More employers need to follow the example of the FDM group in terms of offering opportunities for contractors with umbrella companies who have graduated with IT skills and are currently looking for work.
The largest graduate employer in the UK has recently announced that it is to increase its graduate intake to 1,000 in 2011, which will help meet client demand in the industry.
Dan Hawes, co-founder of the Graduate Recruitment Bureau, believes that more businesses should adopt this strategy, as it will send a positive message out that jobs within this sector are available.
He added: "The fact that FDM is employing more indicates that things are picking up; that would be indicative of an upturn in IT placements and graduates."
Mr Hawes went on to state that in the agency where he is at, graduate IT recruitment has always been a strong sector for umbrella company contractors, as well as consistent all through the recession period.
