Posted by Daniel Frost
Pursing work as web designers could be worthwhile for IT contractors with umbrella companies, according to one expert.
Richard Nott, website director of CWJobs.co.uk, commented that web development "burgeoning area" for which work is becoming available.
He pointed out to company umbrella contractors that this is especially seen in the two skill areas currently in demand – SQL and Java.
Mr Nott added: "C, C#, SQL, .NET and SQL Server remained the top five skills most in demand for permanent IT jobseekers in 2010, but the latter half of the year also saw a number of emerging skills increase in demand."
These other frameworks include Google's mobile operating system Android and Scrum, a development tool used with Agile.
Recently, Canalys predicted that Android would grow at twice the rate of its competitors over the next year.
Chris Jones, principle analyst at the expert analysis source, believes that the current increase of the operating system "has been phenomenal".
