Company umbrella contractors 'should solve their personal debt'
Posted by John Crawley
Umbrella company contractors are being urged to deal with their personal debt themselves, as they could feel better about themselves by doing so.
George Currie, founder of Debtwatchdog.com, advised people on the steps they should take to achieve this.
For one, those with umbrella companies should take a statement of all of their outgoings and make a record of them.
Once this is done, they will be able to see how much they are spending daily, weekly or monthly compared to the amount they have left over the same period of time.
"Then they can try and put some of their disposable income towards bringing down their debt," Mr Currie explained.
By doing this, he added that company umbrella contractors will be able to "gain strength and confidence" by sorting out their debts without consulting outside parties.
It follows recent research conducted by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, which found that 86 per cent of Brits owe money in some way.
