Company umbrella contractors 'should invest in customer experience'

Contractors with an umbrella company should invest in their clients' experience of the business, allowing them to feel more benefits.

This is according to Morag Lehrle, network manager at Customer First UK, who said that customers cared for by companies will stay loyal to them, no matter what the economical situation.

She explained: "In this age of austerity the customer is king, and those organisations that recognise that will be reaping the rewards when the boom time returns."

Ms Lehrle went on to stress that this is because the population has become savvier, where they expect a quality service as much as the products that they buy.

Umbrella company contractors should also be aware of their rights for returning goods themselves, after the business expert noted that 77 per cent of consumers do not know their rights when it comes to taking a product back to a store.

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills hopes to help out festive shoppers with this problem by recently issuing reminders, which included the fact that goods should be returned to a retailer – not a manufacturer.
