The recent snow and icy weather has affected many people spanning the entire width of the UK, but some umbrella company contractors are suffering less than others.

CV Screen reported that businesses which have either implemented cloud computing into their workplace or used flexible working practices will help those working for them.

With the UK economy braced for £6 billion in lost income, according to IT Contractor, there is a vital need for company umbrella contractors to be able to access this technology where beneficial.

Matthew Iveson, managing director at CV Screen, believed that, in particular, cloud computing – which allows personal files and applications to be used anywhere in the world – has proved to be very helpful in reducing costs.

He explained: "Those businesses who have embraced cloud computing and have a policy in place for flexible working are the ones who have been able to minimise disruption."

ThinkGrid shares this idea of cloud computing being good for business, stating that those with umbrella companies should be provided hosted laptops and mobile phones capable of working worldwide by clients.
