Company umbrella contractors 'asked to share opinions'

Contractors with umbrella companies may be interested in taking part in a new survey, which intends to help those in self-employment.

The Department for Work and Pensions has set up the method, via a website, so that people can have their say on what is affecting them from going down the self-employment track.

A total of eight questions are posed to company umbrella contractors, as well as the chance to post any supporting questions.

Topics covered include if people out of work claim Job Seeker's allowance and any challenges which those with umbrella companies face once choosing to work for themselves.

"We want to hear from you and by answering these quick questions, you will really help us to provide people with the best possible help and advice," the department commented.

Meanwhile, contractors have been told that they could be in for a tough time ahead as inflation continues to increase, in a warning issued by Jasmine Birtles, founder of Moneymagpie.com.
