Company umbrella contractors 'are in demand now'

Umbrella company contractors have been told that their services are in more demand now than before the credit crunch.
Gerry McLaughlin, of ITContractor.com, noted that more businesses are hoping to acquire the work of contractors today than they did in 2008.
Furthermore, he believes that one of the reasons for this has been because, instead of seeing these types of workers as a cost, clients cite them as "integral to their companies".
Even major financial institutions are looking to keep company umbrella contractors in their workplace, according to Mr McLaughlin, with cuts in cost which are needed to be made being subjected elsewhere.
The expert added: "One phenomenon I've found is that for the first time in several downturns IT contractors were not badly hit by the recent downturn."
Meanwhile, IT contractors have been seen as a vital part of making the IT department successful in 2011, according to Badenoch & Clark recently.
