Communications jobs 'could present IT contractors with opportunities'

The communications industry will be one of the key areas driving ICT demand during the next 12 months, figures have suggested, which could be good news for contractors using umbrella companies.
IDC has identified those vertical markets which are driving this area and found that this sector, which will be driven by investment in network infrastructure, will outperform the market average.
Finance, healthcare, business services and energy will also increase their ICT expenditure due to compliance issues, it found.
Giuliana Folco, vice president of IDC's European vertical markets division, has highlighted the importance of IT contractors in charge of this type of project showing a demonstrable return on investment.
He added: "With cautiousness dominating their buying behaviour, Western European companies will look for trusted IT partners to help them solve specific business issues."
The importance compliance could play to umbrella company users looking for work in the sectors which have been most heavily effected was recently highlighted by DeviceLock business development manager Alexei Lesnykh.
