National Freelancers Day logo released
Date: September 10, 2009
The Professional contractor group (PGC) supporting freelancers, contractors and consultants, has recently released a logo designed to represent the National Freelancer Day, available for download by members of the website. The announcement of the freelancer day was commented on in our freelancers article here.
PCG is a non profit organisation created with the mission of represent, support and promote freelance and agency contractor workers offering advice on all things freelance related.
The National Freelance day declared to be on the 23 of November at PGC initiative, was launched with the purpose of increasing general awareness of the economic contribution of freelancers in the UK as their contribution to the UK economy is massive as outlined in our earlier article of umbrella industry news.
PCG enthusiastically prepares for events on the 23 of November and encourage every contractor and freelance worker to participate and welcome any ideas for the organisation of the day events. If you have any ideas or suggestion for the National Freelancers day feel welcome to send an email to: info@nationalfreelancersday.org.uk
There are around 1,4 million freelance workers in the UK across different occupations, including IT and engineering, teaching and locums, translation, proof reading, and publishing sectors also have their share of freelance staffing.
PCG reiterates that freelancers are unrecognised and even misunderstood by not just the government and often HMRC, but overlooked for their invaluable contribution to society and the workforce.
OrangeGenie provide umbrella company solutions to freelancers and contractors throughout the UK and hope that the new logo is quickly associated with freelance work and widely recognised by the public.
